Game 4: Eastern v. Cabrini

ST. DAVIDS, Pa.--Eastern Men's Soccer unleashed a seven-goal barrage in Saturday afternoon's home victory over the neighboring Cabrini College Cavaliers.

Eagles' freshman Ben Hriscu scored three goals in the 7-1 win, netting two in the first half and one in the second on a penalty kick.

Eastern took the 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute with Hriscu firing a laser of a shot from the 18. One minute later, Hriscu headed a long free kick by Jair Saenz into the left corner of the goal.

With a comfortable 2-0 lead, the Eagles didn't score again until the second half, when Eric Giovagnoli broke free from a pack of defenders on the left wing and chipped a shot over Cabrini's goalie.

Eastern's Mitch Osterhouse put the Eagles up 4-1 in the 55th minute, sliding a ball from the right post to the back left corner. The Eagles then picked up another goal after a Cabrini clear caromed off Hunter Rosenberg's shoulder and into the goal.

Cabrini ended Eastern's shutout bid in the 62nd minute when Cabrini's Brett Lockbaum and Eric Goldbloom got past Eastern's back line. Lockbaum's shot was deflected by Eastern goalie Matt Lieg, but Goldbloom slid the rebound inside the left post.

Sawyer Pascoe earned his first collegiate goal with a 25-yard blast in the 73rd minute. Less than a minute later, Ben Hriscu scored Eastern's seventh goal, completing the hat trick with a successful penalty kick.

The Eagles play against Haverford College at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
